Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Holter Monitoring and Heart Bug?

Holter Monitoring records your heart rhythm continuously for 24 to 48 hours, while a Heart Bug is worn for up to 28 days to detect less frequent heart rhythm abnormalities. Your doctor will recommend the most suitable test based on your symptoms.

In most cases, yes. Contact our reception team on (07) 3824 8144 to confirm requirements for a specific test.

Diagnostics covers the specific tests we perform, such as ECG, echocardiogram and Holter monitoring. Specialty Services covers the conditions we assess and manage using those tests.

This depends on your referral and clinical needs. Some tests, such as extended rhythm monitoring, are worn over several days and reviewed at a follow up appointment rather than completed in a single visit.
