ECG Reporting Service

ECG Reporting Service

BK Heart offers a specialist ECG reporting service for referring GPs and practices across the Redlands and Bayside Brisbane. If your practice has performed an ECG and would benefit from a consultant cardiologist’s interpretation, we provide a formal written report to support your clinical decision making.

Why Use a Specialist Reporting Service

Accurate ECG interpretation can be difficult for subtle or borderline findings. A specialist report from a consultant cardiologist can give you confidence in your clinical decision, without needing to refer your patient for a full specialist consultation just to have a single ECG reviewed.

How to Submit an ECG for Reporting

ECGs can be submitted by fax or secure email, along with relevant patient and clinical details. Contact our reception team on (07) 3824 8144 to confirm current submission methods and turnaround times.

For Patients

If your GP has sent an ECG to BK Heart for reporting, your results will be returned to your GP, who will discuss them with you. If you need to see a cardiologist in person, ask your GP about a referral for a specialist consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to attend BK Heart in person for this service?

No. This service allows referring GPs and practices to submit ECGs performed in their own clinic directly to BK Heart for cardiologist interpretation and a formal report.

No. If you attend BK Heart in person as part of a consultation, ECG testing may be performed on site as part of your assessment. This service specifically covers interpretation and reporting of ECGs performed elsewhere, most often at a referring GP’s practice.
