Clinical Consultation

Test Only or Test with Clinical Consultation, What's the Difference?

Some diagnostic tests at BK Heart can be performed on their own, with your results reviewed and reported afterward. Others are combined with a same day clinical consultation, where you see your cardiologist directly to discuss your results before you leave.

What a Clinical Consultation Involves

A clinical consultation is a face to face appointment with your cardiologist, where your symptoms, history and any test results are discussed directly. If your appointment includes a consultation, you will generally receive an explanation of your results and next steps on the same day, rather than waiting for a written report to be reviewed separately.

Why This Distinction Matters for Billing

Fee structures can differ depending on whether a test is performed alone or combined with a consultation. Contact our reception team on (07) 3824 8144 for current pricing on your specific appointment type.

How to Know Which Applies to You

Whether your appointment includes a consultation depends on your referral and the specific test being performed. If you are unsure, our reception team can confirm what your appointment includes before your visit.
